Nairobi's innovation scene has long been a major hub for the whole African continent and is set to develop still further. The region's varied entrepreneurial landscape lays the foundation for an infrastructure that triggers novel ideas in many industries, none more so than in the bio-testing and mobile and digital health sectors. Merck is now an integral part of the innovation scene and will continue to expand its Nairobi base throughout 2018.
Working alongside our partner Mettā where ran a challenge that culminated in a pitch event in May. We will also host a monthly eHealth Meetup.
The application period ended in May 2018.
The selected startups were invited to a Pitch Day in Nairobi. The best startup will have the opportunity to collaborate with Merck at our headquarters.
At our Pitch Event, startups and founders got the chance to showcase their innovative ideas to a judging panel from Merck. The winner will be invited to join the Merck Innovation Center in Darmstadt, Germany, to pitch for a collaboration project.
